The design took a leap forward, and might be ready for prime time the next time around. Big thanks to Andy Juell for compiling a list of the most common 4 letter words (so I can replace five of my problematic Scrabble words). I received a lot of great feedback for removing pieces from the board. This is a fast paced dice rolling game incorporating dexterity, spelling and worker placement mechanics. Kevin suggested adding board tiles as each tile filled up. A few tweaks to the weather prediction mechanism will make it even better. Overall the game has a great concept and it’s fun to play. A few special ability cards come into play, but use them with prudence. Players can control their altitude, but they are at the whim of the wind’s speed and direction. Hot Air Aviators captured the triumph and frustration of navigating a hot air balloon. There are plans to travel the show to additional sites throughout 2022. ![]() The ten commissioned works will be included in an exhibition opening Fall 2021 in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University’s Frank-Ratchye STUDIO For Creative Inquiry, timed to commemorate the 230th anniversary of the Bill’s signing. Upon completion of the work, the selected proposals will be expected to grant Carnegie Mellon a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to present the resulting works in the Shall Make, Shall Be: The Bill of Rights at Play project. Artists will receive an honorarium and small budget for expenses. Artists will be invited to develop their works with the support of the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon. Ten projects will be selected, with each proposal team asked to create a playable work exploring one of the Ten Amendments from the Bill of Rights. culture, these games and artworks are meant to use play to interrogate, critique, inform, and ask questions about our understanding of civil liberties in the 21st Century. Drawing on both the legal meaning and the effect of the 10 Amendments on U.S. Shall Make, Shall Be: The Bill of Rights at Play invites artists and independent game makers to propose game-based artworks around the individual Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
